Demo Cyclocross Wheels
I get asked quite often what the real difference is between tubulars and clinchers especially when it comes to cyclocross. Theres a lot of information on both sides of that discussion but I kind of decided talk is cheap just try them.
In an effort to help customers get that chance and to help get PSIMET wheels out in the local race scene, I decided to build up and offer demo wheel sets for the Chicago Cyclocross Cup Series.
How it works
- You will get to race on 50mm carbon tubulars with Challenge Grifo 32 tires glued up on them.
- Contact me to reserve a spot. Well work out specifics like when you should pick them up (at the race venue) and what gearing you will be running, etc.
- Pay $35/race to help me out with wear and tear on the wheels. Pay $10 more up front to protect against possible flats (flat for free so to speak). Pay $20 after if you flat during the race.
- If you damage any major component of the wheels Rim, Hub, Tire then we will work something out to cover the cost of the damaged component only less anything you have already paid.
- Have clean brake pads toed in before picking up the wheels to save time. Carbon specific pads arent as necessary as you would think but they do help. You can buy great ones made by Rav-X that will work for both aluminum and carbon rims at just about any great local shop.but thats because we have a great local Rav-X rep.
- When done turn them in. I will take a credit card number as a deposit. Anything you spend on this demo program will go towards any wheel you might choose to buy.
